Today I passed by the Fashion Institute of Technology. It’s basically on two blocks in Chelsea. A street runs through the blocks and it’s shut down in the morning so it’s quiet. I like seeing the students, gawky and strangely dressed. They are often carrying portfolios. It’s a contrast to the high school near where I live, High School for the Graphic Arts. FIT is really sequestered away from the rest of Chelsea. The High School of the Graphics Arts children spread out all around the neighborhood before school starts. When I walk eastward, away from the school, they get louder and bolder. Sometimes they move around a lot and I think that one day we’ll mistakenly collide but it hasn’t happened yet.

I’m not ready to put my hat on! (Weather reference)
